Farm Trails
Year-round guide to Sonoma County farms.

Occidental Arts and Ecology Center
OAEC is an environmental center with four acres of organic gardens. We have tours, plant sales, events and classes. Plant Sales: April 8-9, May 6-7 and August 26-27. Open House Aug 26-27. Volunteer Day every Wednesday, except at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Sol Food Farm
With long days of sweat and success, we created Sol Food Farm and prepared for our farmers makets in Sebastopol and Occidental. We acquired organic certification by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) while we established ourselves, and now choose to maintain our own and our community’s standards of ecological farming without a USDA certificate. In returning to community-based farming, we encourage friends/neighbors to participate and share knowledge in order to connect with the food we nourish ourselves with, and be assured first-hand that we are contributing to the vitality of Harrison Grade.

Sonoma County Fiber Trails
A group of farms specializing in high quality hand spinning fibers from many breeds of sheep, goats, rabbits, alpacas, llamas-plus dye plants, live animals, yarn, pelts and freezer lambs. Various Locations. Hours: All year by appt.

Farms

Farming and ranching have long been a way of life here in western Sonoma County. The roots of this community are reflected in the beauty of the land; what you see around you is the product of the stewardship of many generations.

From cattle on coastal bluffs to the vineyards and small farms of the inner ridges and valleys, these small towns still support a simpler way of life. This wide variety of local foods is available at our area restaurants, groceries, and farmer's markets. |
